MARKETING INTERN

The Marketing Intern will develop marketing, public relations, graphic design, event planning and administrative skills through hands-on work experience in a nonprofit environment. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with development of communication and marketing tools (brochures, social media, videos, etc.)
Assisting with development and implementation of public relations campaigns, including writing media advisories and press releases
Assisting in planning, organizing, soliciting for and publicizing special events
Writing and editing of feature stories using success stories from our community partners for use in our e-newsletter and on our website
Assisting in developing and creating videos to be shared on social media
Preparing and organizing mailings to local businesses and individual donors
Other duties as needed

Qualifications:
Junior or Senior Marketing, Communications or related major with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - including the ability to communicate in a variety of settings with a variety of stakeholders
Strong understanding of and familiarity with AP Style Guide and associated grammar, punctuation, style and copy editing rules (bonus points to those who have completed a news or PR writing course)
Has experience in layout and presentation of attractive, accurate and effective materials
Fast mover and thinker with a high level of creativity
Self-starter who needs little direction or guidance
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
Ability to use good judgement and make sound decisions
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

Position details:
Flexible scheduling
12 to 20 hours per week (negotiable)
