It is vital for any community to have a safety net that provides for short term and immediate needs. Cedar Valley United Way invests in programs that focus on emergency and short-term outputs rather than outcomes, to provide services that assist those that have experienced a temporary setback or who face emergency situations.
These grants provide for needs in the areas of food, shelter, rental assistance and the removal of immediate barriers to safety or work. The investments must be between $10,000 and $75,000 annually. Clients served must have an income below 200% of the poverty level.
