2016 CAMPAIGN PROJECTIONS

WATERLOO, IA – Cedar Valley United Way is entering the final stretch of the 2016 campaign. Contributions for this campaign are being collected through the end of January.

Until then, 2016 campaign co-chairs, Don and Michelle Temeyer continue to encourage support from those in the Cedar Valley. The pair have been busy campaigning and hope to exceed the 2015 campaign amount raised of $2,902,894.

This year’s campaign theme is “Be the One”. As the Temeyer’s have become more familiar with the programs supported by Cedar Valley United Way, they would like others to know it really can take just ONE person to change a life. As Don mentioned, “We each do what we can,” Michelle followed with, “and together, we make one big impact in our community.”

Every contribution matters. You can be the one to make a difference in our community by giving to Cedar Valley United Way.

Money raised in the 2016 campaign will provide grant funding for programs improving education, income and health here in the Cedar Valley. Last year’s campaign contributions help fund 64 programs at 34 nonprofit partners throughout the community. “These programs are here working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And, we’re seeing results from the investments,” Michelle expanded.

The Temeyer’s support Cedar Valley United Way’s fight for every person in our community. “We all hope to be independent and able to take care of ourselves and our families, but life can be unpredictable. Sometimes we find ourselves in need of a bit of help,” Don said. “That’s why it’s important we support the work of Cedar Valley United Way now.”

The campaign passed the one million mark in late November and continues to climb. The Temeyer’s say they are working toward a better future for our community and hope even more choose to join them in giving this year.

It’s not too late to give. Contributions can be made online at www.cedarvalleyunitedway.org or by calling 319-235-6211. Giving can also be done by texting UNITES to 41444. Final results of the 2016 campaign will be announced at the Breakfast of Champions, Wednesday, March 29th.
