Tocqueville Society

The Tocqueville Society recognizes individuals who, through their generosity and leadership, demonstrate and inspire caring through giving.

The Society is named for the French author Alexis de Tocqueville. The name was chosen because of Tocqueville’s admiration for the spirit of voluntary association and voluntary effort for the common good, a spirit he had observed in America and about which he wrote enthusiastically.

The Tocqueville Society is for individuals and/or couples who annually invest $10,000 or more to Cedar Valley United Way.
