Promoting Your Campaign
To create interest in your campaign, it is necessary to publicize your events in as many ways as possible. Think about the different ways you communicate within your organization.
Employee Publications
Announce your campaign in your company newsletter. Include the theme, goal, dates of special events and kick off, and any special endorsements, for example, from your CEO and labor leaders.
Since this is an important fund raising event, aim for the front page while your campaign is in progress. You may even put together a special Cedar Valley United Way edition.
External Publications
Consider sending a press release to the local newspaper outlining your special events. Include names of your in-house chairs and volunteers. You can also contact the Cedar Valley United Way office to help you write a press release and to make arrangements for it to appear in the newspaper.
Special Displays, Posters and Banners in the Workplace
Hang posters or banners announcing your campaign in key locations throughout your company, especially in high-traffic areas such as employee break room or cafeteria. (Insert link to Tools and Downloads section)
