United Way Golf Classic to be Held

WATERLOO, IA—Cedar Valley United Way will host its thirteenth annual United Way Golf Classic on Friday, June 21, at the South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo. The event, presented by SCHEELS, will help raise the first dollars of the 2019 campaign.

Teams of four will play eighteen holes with an 8-inch cup best shot. First-, second-, and third-place winners of each flight will win prizes of golf bags, clubs, balls, or apparel. Additional flag events will be available for longest drive, closest to the pin, and longest putt.

The United Way Golf Classic focuses on bringing people together to score a hole-in-one for our community. Each year at the United Way Golf Classic, we play golf to change lives. We aspire to strengthen the Cedar Valley by Living United.

SCHEELS events leader, Jeremia Matz, explained that SCHEELS enjoys sponsoring the Golf Classic because they “get to be part of such great organizations like United Way and give back to our local community.”

Jeremia’s favorite aspect of the event is how “all the organizations come together for such a great cause.” United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community. We win by Living United.

Last year, we raised $27,720! Your support helps make our community stronger. To register for the Cedar Valley United Way’s Golf Classic, presented by SCHEELS, (or for sponsorship opportunities!) contact Nicole Schmitt at nicole.schmitt@cvuw.org or by filling out the team form at https://www.cedarvalleyunitedway.org/2019golfclassic.
