WATERLOO, IA – Barnes & Noble has partnered with Cedar Valley United Way for their annual holiday book drive. United Way has already picked up over 1,000 books from the store.
All books donated stay in our community to be put in the hands of those most in need.
Cedar Valley children involved in preschool, home visitation, family literacy, and child care programs provided by United Way partner agencies will receive the books.
Reading helps prepare children for school and a life of learning. Research shows that a child with more books in their home is more likely to graduate from high school.
“While our Emerging Leaders’ Books for Babies program is focusing on getting books into the homes of newborns, this book drive impacts kids of all ages,” said Ashley Stoppel, Marketing Director at United Way. “Books really are the gift that keeps on giving. We are thankful for this partnership opportunity.”
Books purchased at Barnes & Noble in Waterloo can be donated in-store to the book drive, which runs through the New Year.
